NetApp Unveils Resilient Next-Generation AI Data Solutions

NetApp, a leader in data management and storage solutions, has announced the release of its resilient next-generation AI data solutions. The company has unveiled new all-flash performance storage, new capacity-optimized flash object storage, and a new converged AI solution, co-engineered with Lenovo.

The new all-flash performance storage, known as the NetApp AFF A800, is designed to provide high-performance and low-latency storage for artificial intelligence (AI) workloads. It features a flash-based architecture that delivers up to 250,000 IOPS and supports up to 32 Gb/s of throughput. The AFF A800 is also equipped with advanced data management features such as deduplication, compression, and RAID protection to ensure data integrity and availability.

The new capacity-optimized flash object storage, known as the NetApp FAS500f, is designed for large-scale AI workloads that require high capacity and throughput. It provides up to 1.3 PB of raw capacity in a single node and supports up to 64 Gb/s of throughput. The FAS500f also features advanced data management capabilities, including erasure coding for data protection and data recovery.

In addition to the new storage solutions, NetApp has also introduced a converged AI solution in collaboration with Lenovo. The solution combines NetApp’s storage expertise with Lenovo’s server and software capabilities to provide a pre-integrated and validated platform for AI workloads. The solution supports popular AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Caffe, and is designed to simplify the deployment and management of AI environments.

“We are thrilled to introduce our resilient next-generation AI data solutions,” said Sanjay Mehta, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Storage Business Unit at NetApp. “Our new all-flash performance storage and capacity-optimized flash object storage offerings provide the high-performance and scalability that AI workloads require, while our converged AI solution with Lenovo simplifies the deployment and management of AI environments.”

The new solutions are designed to support a wide range of AI use cases, including machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision. They are also optimized for cloud-based deployments and can be integrated with public cloud services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.

“We are excited to collaborate with NetApp on this converged AI solution,” said Kamran Khalid, General Manager, Lenovo’s Data Center Group. “The combination of our server and software expertise with NetApp’s storage capabilities provides customers with a powerful platform for their AI workloads.”

Overall, NetApp’s resilient next-generation AI data solutions are designed to help organizations overcome the challenges associated with managing and deploying AI workloads. With high-performance storage, advanced data management capabilities, and simplified deployment and management, these solutions can help businesses unlock the full potential of AI and achieve their strategic goals.
